I remember sitting in our living room, as a little girl, and you teaching me soooo many things about God and life. Teaching me how to sit like a lady, how to address my elders, not to place my fingers along the rim of others cups as I carried a cup to them, how to be thankful for ANYTHING that someone does for you, how to be honest, how to always share and how to do as the bible instructs me to do! You did not miss a beat! It always amazed me how you managed to drill so much in to my head at a young age, and in turn I was able to share so much knowledge with friends who had parents that chose to sweep the reality of life under the rug - you taught us all! I used to get so angry with you for not allowing me to do so many things that my friends parents allowed them to do - now I understand. (funny how that works!) Not only do I now understand, I also apply YOUR teachings to your granddaughters life! Yes, it's true Mom... I am old fashioned... and I thank you for that! Your foundation is the reason that my heart can love so openly. I am eternally grateful and thankful that God loves me sooooo much that He gave me the best Mom in the world!

To Mother:

Oh mom, I thank my God for granting me an opportunity to meet you.  He has such great timing!  It always seemed as if our time together when visiting was never long enough.  I loved when I could surprise you with a visit and you not know I was coming.  To see you resting, then you opened your eyes and I was by your bedside.  Mom you showed me the heart of a mother and I pray I can remember the wise things you shared with me about children.  I truly enjoyed those words of wisdom and how you spoke about the love you had for your children.  To see Rick bring you in dinner and sit and watch ministry with you and show such love for his mom.  Thats a picture I will forever hold in my mind.  To see you and paul go back and forth and you laugh at what he said back to you to get a response out of him, that was a hot mess!!! I laughed o' how I laughed!  Mother, I know what God began in you with your children, He will and is able to see it all the way through to the end.  We all grieve in our own way.  I have good mourning mom!  I think of you with loving memories and thank my God for allowing me, to meet someone like you.  He knew I needed you in my life at the time I stepped into yours.  My last visit with you was April 17, 2010 and I am so glad it was, I had the chance to sit by your bedside once more and watched you rest and pop your head up and again you asked "Hows the children baby?" like you often did.  You my love are one of a kind and you have become a great part of who I am, thank you for being you.  Your Brenda

I will always remember Ms. Irene as a sweet loving person that always had something sweet to say!! I know you are in a better place and we will see each other again soon!! Love you Rodney!!
